An international law firm acting on behalf of a multinational Internet Corporation required assistance with investigating an intellectual property dispute … The dispute related to Java software copyright and patent infringements.

Work undertaken:

Forensically examined information on computers of the suspected employees. Performed Java source code analysis.

Outcome:

A software programmer was identified to be responsible for extracting Java source code covered by copyright and passing it off as her own work. JAD Java Decompiler had been used to extract the source code and software revision control system to submit the code. A comprehensive report has been prepared for the client outlining all findings.
